We get a nice welcome mail from our newly ordered web hosting provider - and now we have to actually convert their IP redirection and available directory into a working website...

Web applicaton coding, testing, etc. all well and good, but you need to put it up on the web somewhere!   The available options set certain constraints on the development and so need to be decided fairly early on in the project.

So, all the preliminary analysis has been done and the time has come to get down to concrete doing of deeds.

Following my decision to use a Scrummy development process, what I have to do now is work out a list of what I expect to be able to implement in the next thirty days - the first Sprint backlog.

I have been doing some research into Scrum, a development process involving iterative cycles, each cycle aiming to deliver a completed subset of the desired functionality.   You can read more about Scrum here.

Although this is a one-man development at the moment, I decided to use some elements of Scrum with myself wearing several hats.   I call it "Scrummy"...

From the initial concepts that I had formed, it became clear to me that I was looking at a multi-tier project - which is just as well, since one of the aims of the project was to provide a demonstration of exactly that...

Before going into my project planning I decided - as a feasibility check - to have a quick look at these tiers and some of the interfaces between them.
