my name is Chris Cracknell and I am a Scottish software engineer living in Hamburg, Germany.
Professionally I describe myself with the following short description:
I am Scottish but currently based in Hamburg. I can speak fluent German, as well as English (my mother tongue). I have an MA in Theoretical Physics from Cambridge University (1988) and a Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Abertay (1994). I have worked for twelve years as a freelancer in the area of retail banking and was permanently employed for 8 years before that. During this time I have worked as a software developer/architect, Project manager and security specialist on a large range of projects mostly centred around ATMs and retail banking. My core competence would lie in the areas of payment/communications security. My technical skills are centred around C++, Java, J2EE, OO Analysis and Design, Cryptography, security and smart cards.
I am the managing director of Open Mind Software Ltd.

Judo, since 1977.

My favourite hobby is learning to do something that I cannot already do.
